Job Summary​Responsible for several key residency planning initiatives and oversight over the career coaching process for students and provides direct, individualized student affairs support for the various campuses. Also key faculty instructor within the career pathways program curriculum.Job Duties
Ensures students and advisors have the skills, information and resources to meet their career goals.
Serve as the advisor for MD4 students participating in the National Residency Matching Program Match.
Maintain longitudinal institutional data on interviews and residency placements.
Select and train career peer mentors to support first year students with their CV development process.
Provide leadership in the development, implementation, and assessment of programs and initiatives to assist in student learning and satisfaction. Design instruments, compile and analyze data, report findings and propose plans to be implemented.
Provide individual career coaching and counseling for MD1-4 students.
Maintain ongoing contact with M3 and M4 students regarding student affairs support with a focus on career coaching, specialty interest and career application planning through regional meetings and onsite visits as necessary to other campuses.
Develop strong relationships and collaborate with the Regional Teams for student intervention and support.
Participate in the collaboration for academic success meetings to identify and discuss at risk students.
Participate in committees and collaborate with other departments to ensure students have the best options available for their desired career path.
Assist in the professional identity development process related to the review process for CV and personal statement development.
Coordinate mock interviews for students.
Monitor student interview schedules and alert the Residency Planning team of any students with limited interview schedules.
Provide counseling on away rotation electives and collaborate with the 4th year Regional Education Specialist to review student’s 4th year schedules.
Implement the comprehensive 4 Year Career Curriculum Program for all MD students to ensure quality career exploration and planning. Collaborate with Alumni Relations to provide career support and advice from GCSOM Alumni Community.
