Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Manufacturing and Process Development Engineering Teams significantly impact LEANPD driven new product development projects, driving for excellence in existing manufacturing technologies and methods and striving to implement new manufacturing technologies to provide improved process and tolerance control. They act as the binding element between product development and manufacturing engineering, ensuring the effectiveness and efficiency of this critical interface. They support Product Development in the optimization of designs and piece parts for manufacturability by realizing sample tooling/products/prototypes. They also design, develop, and qualify tooling and processes to meet TE quality and production standards, document all processes and tooling in applicable TE systems, support supply chain to verify supplier compliance and capability, initiate and implement programs to continuously improve quality, cost and cycle time and adhere to all appropriate specifications, regulatory requirements and customer requirements.

The Manufacturing and Process Technician II will be part of a Manufacturing Development Engineering Team within the Appliances Business Unit off TE Connectivity. The current team members are considered subject matter experts for stamping, molding or assembly related topics, ensuring design for manufacturability of new product designs and processes will run at optimum output and quality levels. Our expertise is in mold and die tooling, machining, and assembly techniques, possessing extensive knowledge of the associated manufacturing processes which may include the optimization and standardization of stamping / molding / assembly or other processes within the manufacturing environment. The Manufacturing and Process Technician II will work with APL Resin Platform team to conduct testing and create reports on potential new platform resins. The Manufacturing and Process Technician II will work with the APL Manufacturing Development Engineering team to support mold technology development projects. The Manufacturing and Process Technician II will be responsible to maintain the APL molding lab equipment, perform mold changeovers and repairs, ensure stock for materials and spare components.


Manufacturing and Process Technician II POSITION:
Support Testing and Categorization of Resin Samples made on Test Mold
o Setup test plans and collect testing results
o Supports MDE with sample creation
o Support resin team with platform expansion
o Ensure continuous support for new resin testing

Manage materials testing database
o Load test data and material data to database
o Create team facing documents for storage in TE engineering apps
o Keep record of material comparisons
Support Test Lab Operations
o Set and remove mold from injection molding machine
o Mold tear down and maintenance
o Auxiliary equipment support
o Mold change-over and cleaning
o Machine and mold modification support
o Creates standard work instructions for machine PM and routinely follows schedule

The Manufacturing and Process Technician II will report to the Appliances Business Unit’s US Manufacturing Development Engineering Manager

What your background should look like:

Associates of Science Engineering or Associates of Science Engineering Technology with molding and polymer experience

Mold build/shop/design experience and scientific injection molding experience

a plus
