DESCRIPTION OF WORKYou will oversee the advancement, execution, and management of the Driver Qualifications Section. In addition, you will deliver formal presentations to various professional organizations on program areas, provide formal training sessions, and conduct research to pinpoint high-risk driver groups and devise effective intervention strategies. Securing funding for research activities and collaborating closely with the Department of Education, Department of Human Services, and the Highway Safety and Traffic Operations Division to enhance school bus safety by identifying at-risk drivers will be an essential part of this job. The role involves directing driver qualifications and safety processes, proposing regulatory, legislative, and budgetary measures for program enhancement, and evaluating and refining driver qualification activities. Furthermore, you will conduct essential research to establish regulations, guidelines, and procedures for testing driver licensing candidates and those selected for re-examination. Full-time employment

Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with 60-minute lunch.

Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.

This position is eligible for alternate work schedule (AWS)

Periodic travel, including overnight and weekends required

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITYQUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

Four years of experience in progressively responsible and varied line management or administrative staff work in a public or private organization, including two years with a state motor vehicles program, an automobile service organization, motor vehicle manufacturer, or other comparable organization associated with the automobile industry which provided experience in the application and interpretation of state motor vehicle laws; and such training as may have been gained from graduation from a four-year college or university;or

Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
