A Pennsylvania state agency located in Philadelphia, PA is looking for an MS Server Support consultant for a 6 month contract.

Required Skills

  • Deployed RDS infrastructure windows 2016 - 2022
    • RD-Gateway & High Availability.
    • RD-Web
    • RD-Connection Broker
    • RD-Host
  • Knowledge of NPS server including CAP's (Client Access Policy's) and RAP's (Resource Access Policy's), Azure MFA
  • Certificate requirements including certificate SAN's
  • Knowledge of how to set above up in a rights restricted environment. (Not having Domain Admin privileges). (Working with PE team as required)
  • Ability to document as built / updated build / deployment documentation and operating runbooks / training

Highly Desired/ Preferred Skills

  • Modern app deployment OS 2019 support and server OS 2016
  • Understanding of App-V / MSI-X application packaging
  • Legacy Application deployment and packaging for RDS Servers
  • Deployment for MSIX
  • Testing of MSIX application Packages and shimming
  • Digital Signing of MSIX applications

Responsibilities

  • Configure development, test, and production MS Terminal Servers and Streets Department Servers
  • Ensure appropriate firewall rules, necessary security patches and server and client licensing requirements
  • Work with Streets Department staff to configure as many as 70 applications and associated Active Directory user access groups including multi-factor authentication
  • Optimizing performance and user experience through seamless sign on and MFA
  • Establish management principles, develop procedures and documentation, and train staff on use of the RDS Management Console
  • Respond to user RDS needs, test and troubleshoot applications to ensure full functionality
  • The Server Technician will help the Streets Department configure servers in compliance with agency architecture and security standards.
  • Servers will be optimized for performance and user experience. The MS Terminal Server support role will be responsible for planning, designing applying, and ensuring all deployed applications have full functionality including access to necessary network resources.
  • Establishing a Web Portal, Broker Server, and Gateway Server, F5 load balancing, DNS, antivirus and EDR setup, application vulnerability scanning and penetration testing.
  • Replace a legacy Citrix server farm that provides access to both recent and legacy applications.
