As an organization, we keep growing – and so will you.Auto req ID:433035BRDepartment Overview:The National Franchise Credit Manager provides leadership and oversight of the credit underwriting and credit administration functions of the Franchise business consistent with the TD Bank Group Risk Appetite Principles, including establishing the Borrower Risk Ratings and Facility Risk Ratings for new and existing credit relationships. The National Franchise Credit Manager directs and supervises management teams in the monitoring of loan covenants, loan delinquency, and the completion of the annual review and renewal of existing credit relationships to ensure asset quality while driving profitable business growth.Depth & Scope:

Provides people management leadership by hiring the best talent, setting goals, developing staff, managing employee performance and compensation decisions, promoting teamwork, and handling any/all disciplinary actions, as required

Partners in creating and executing on the product and business strategy across the Commercial Franchise and Sponsor lending business

Helps drive execution of the business strategy across multiple functions by assisting the business segment in customer and prospect development by participating in prospect/customer calls and business development activities when appropriate

Oversees the overall Credit Management structure across Franchise to ensure the appropriate credit appetite, policies, procedure to drive business successes

Directs Credit Management in the review of compliance with loan covenants in the businesses

Serves as the senior leader on commercial loan structuring, pricing models, Risk Adjusted Return on Capital (RAROC) for the Business Unit while serving as a liaison to audit and credit risk

Directs Credit Management in the timely completion of annual reviews and renewals and monitoring of loan covenants to ensure compliance with TD Bank, N.A. Loan Policy

Structures creative competitive solutions to meet existing and prospective customer needs consistent with the TD Bank Group Risk Appetite Principles

Identifies and responds to changes in the macro-economic environment, industry issues and business environment, establishing action plans to address customer issues and priorities

Builds and enhances productive relationships with all business partners within the Relationship Team

Provides guidance and support to the Business Heads in the formulation of business strategies and specific plans and initiatives while ensuring they represent acceptable credit risks to the bank

Provides macro-level direction on competitive commercial banking market and economic trends, emerging pricing and fees issues, and competitive product development matters

Approves new loans and annual reviews within delegated credit approval limits established by TD Bank, N.A. Loan Policy and oversees the recommendations on all others within the business unit's portfolio

Ensures the appropriate balance between new business development, loan pricing, and credit risk consistent with the TD Bank Group Risk Appetite Principles

Participates in the establishment and review of credit policies, maintenance of asset quality, product development, and identification of credit risk within the commercial loan portfolio

Recommends new policy or changes to existing policy as our business requirements change and credit markets evolve

Assists in the formulation of TD Bank, N.A.'s credit risk and operational risk management strategies

Having all Franchise related cash flow / EV-reliant credit exposures originated and managed through one centralized, specialized unit ensures structuring consistency / uniformity and thereby reduces risk, increases speed to market, and improves the customer experience

Represents TD at civic, professional and bank-sponsored events; serves on non-profit boards and participates on professional organizations

Represents the franchise both internally and externally; develops and maintains relationships with major clients, regulators, and the investment community and, with other TD leaders, supports a high, positive public profile for the TD franchise

Supports the development and implementation of operational strategies and objectives to achieve measurable excellence in the quality delivery of sales, service, and products aligned with Best Run concepts and overall enterprise strategy and objectives

Participates in establishing and executing plans and goals for the Business to drive toward results

Develops and maintains an operating budget, ensuring adherence to budget

May delegate budgetary assignments to direct reports, but maintains overall budgetary responsibility and oversight

Provides financial reports and analysis including budget variances to management on a regular basis

Communicates business strategies, programs and practices – establishes and operates change strategy throughout the organization

Delivers business services, functions and capabilities that optimize the use of process, technology and our people, and take advantage of TD’s scale and operating model

Ensures TD is a best run, integrated, customer-focused, growth organization

Understands business unit / function’s own risk appetite statement, objectives for risk and control, and measures, where applicable, making sure these are aligned with TD’s Risk Appetite

Ensures that the business / function operates within TD’s Risk Appetite by tracking key metrics against its policies, procedures and limits

Successfully completes all required job specific, compliance-related training and ensures team members complete all required training; understands, utilizes, and follows compliance / risk and control programs

Consults with all risk functions in the development and documentation of policies, procedures and controls, for all department processes

Ensures ongoing compliance with internal/external audit and regulatory requirements

Provides prompt and comprehensive response to all external audit, regulator, and compliance requests and findings

Maintains appropriate records of action plans

Bachelor's Degree; MBA Preferred or experience

15+ years related experience, requires some dedicated Franchise and Sponsor lending expertise, demonstrating increasing levels of responsibility in credit underwriting and administration, risk identification and mitigation, and creation of value-added credit structuring in a commercial banking environment

Exceptional business acumen; understands and utilizes economic, financial and industry data to accurately diagnose business strengths and weaknesses; identifies key business issues and develops strategies based on long-term and short-term company objectives

Ability to develop and implement a sound business plan, anticipate and track market trends, and adjust accordingly

Ability to translate strategy into operational reality and align communication, people, culture, processes, resources and systems to ensure effective implementation and delivery of required results
