Primary Location: Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Onsite 3 days a week in Philadelphia, PA V-Soft Consulting is currently hiring for a

Network Engineer II for our premier client in

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities »
  • Good documentation skills.
  • NW troubleshooting and configuring.
  • Linux - command line level.
  • Monitoring IT services and Networks background.
  • Will train - much of the technology is still new.
  • Any DOCSIS experience or Cable plant experience a +.
  • Any experience with CMTS a plus.
  • Experience working in an XOC a plus.
  • Use more Juniper and Arista than Cisco - not asking for any specifically as a requirement.
  • Someone with a Headend background may work.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

Job Responsibilities:
  • Team does front line CMTS platform monitoring for alarms and we manage events as they occur.
  • Take escalations from the XOC that are direct impacting to customers and device related
  • Sense of urgency in getting things resolves
  • Use Grafana which tells the lifecycle and config information.
  • Use command lines to find out what's happening with a device or switch within the network - determine what the issue is.
  • 24/7 operation.
