We are seeking an Oracle Database Administrator to assist with the maintenance of our integrated data system. You will be required to install and maintain the database software, create storage structures, set up user accounts, debug malfunctioning programs, create backups, and regularly maintain the database security.To ensure success as an Oracle Database Administrator, you should have extensive experience with DBA front-end and back-end tools, excellent problem-solving skills, and hands-on experience with Oracle database management.We are also seeking a candidate with significant experience in confidential, client-level data management.  This position must understand federal, state, and local requirements for the handling of client-level confidential data, the technical features available in Oracle to protect data, and have experience in developing and maintaining security procedures.The Oracle Database Administrator will report to the Oracle Data Manager and be a part of the IDEA technical team.Work-LifeWorking hours are generally 37.5 hours per week. Our team is currently hybrid with 2 days in the office with up to 3 days remote work. Staff can opt to come into the office each day if desired. The current policy is subject to change.Essential FunctionsCoordinate and plan with the Oracle Data Manager on data expansion, routine system maintenance, and system enhancementsIdentify and install tools and methods to ensure optimal warehouse process; monitor system performance and implement tuning processesDefine, implement, maintain, and optimize processes for request/ release management and change controlAlter storage structures to meet the evolving needs of the integrated data environmentInstall and maintain the Oracle database softwareRegularly apply Oracle and Linux patchesIdentify resources needs; assist with procurement of hardware and software, and manage annual software renewalsImplement, audit, and ensure database security and encryptionRegularly update the database security protocolsSet up database user accountsEstablish, maintain, and monitor warehouse data security and accessIdentify and resolve systems malfunctions and bugs to ensure database integrity and high availability of the dataManage database backups and schedules of backupsDocument key process for the Oracle database, including policy for user access, procedures for routine system monitoring, procedures for routine compliance monitoring, and the procedures for disaster recoveryCompetencies, Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesAbility to follow strict privacy and security protocols for handling sensitive data in accordance with federal, state, and local regulationsWorking knowledge of data modeling to apply data model changesMeticulous organizational skills including detailed project managementExcellent verbal, listening, and written communication skills, including technical writingAbility to work cooperatively with others to set goals, resolve problems, and make decisionsAbility to learn new skills (e.g., new software) and procedures quickly
