Scoop Shop Assistant Job Summary

Over The Moon Ice Cream is a locally owned ice cream shop in Brewerytown. We make all of our ice cream, ices and sorbets on site, and we are looking forward to a busy summer in 2024!

We are currently seeking friendly and upbeat people to join our team as Scoop Shop Assistants, a part-time, hourly, seasonal position. Scoop Shop Assistants will engage with customers through a walk-up window; help to prepare and serve products; and maintain a safe, clean shop space.

Scoop Shop Assistants will receive full training on how to prepare, scoop, and serve our goodies; how to use equipment and technology; and how to provide great customer service.

We are a new business and hope to offer opportunities for growth. Currently, candidates should be available to work 15 – 25 hours per week, Wednesday – Sunday, and be prepared to work until 11pm at least two nights per week. The rate for the position is $12/hour + tips.

Scoop Shop Assistant Duties and Responsibilities

Accept orders from customers at walk-up window and via online system

Prepare and serve products (ice cream cups and cones, Italian ice, etc.)

Make waffle cones and Belgian waffles

Restock items including napkins, cups, spoons, etc. as needed

Restock ice cream, cones, toppings, etc. as needed

Maintain a clean space, including wiping down surfaces in between customers, emptying trash cans, etc.

Assist with store opening and closing, including moving benches, umbrellas, and signage; mopping; cleaning equipment; and generally preparing for the next shift

Help keep sidewalk neat and clean of trash

Assist with other tasks as needed

Scoop Shop Assistant Requirements and Qualifications

Positive and enthusiastic with strong customer service skills

Ability to stand for extended periods

Ability to lift 25 lbs

Food handling experience a bonus

Point of Sale (POS) experience a bonus

High school diploma or GED certificate a plus

Must be at least 18 years old
