Patient Collections SpecialistResponsibilities:

Contact patients with outstanding balances to discuss payment options and resolve billing inquiries.

Demonstrate empathy and understanding while communicating with patients, addressing their concerns, and providing clear explanations of charges.

Collaborate with insurance companies, healthcare providers, and internal teams to verify insurance coverage and facilitate payment processing.

Utilize effective negotiation skills to collect payments while maintaining positive patient relationships.

Document all interactions accurately in our billing system.

Assist patients in setting up payment plans and exploring financial assistance programs.

Stay informed about industry regulations and compliance standards related to patient billing.

Qualifications:

Minimum of 2 years of experience in collections, preferably in a healthcare setting.

Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to balance empathy and assertiveness.

Proficiency in medical billing software and familiarity with insurance claims processes.

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.

Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and privacy.
