Plant Laborer - Major Projects Division

Nicholson is part of a global network of unparalleled geotechnical resources and expertise, specializing in deep foundations, earth retention, ground treatment and ground improvement.Status: Non exemptReports to: Plant Superintendent/ManagerSummary: Provides physical labor as part of a crew or independently to complete project related tasks.Essential Functions: Ensure that all Nicholson and OSHA safety regulations are followed and enforced; responsible for safety on site. Ensure that all Nicholson quality standards are met as they apply to equipment. Attend safety meetings and provide input as needed. Work and communicate with other team members to accomplish the tasks given. Performs a variety of tasks as needed by the plant and yard in fulfilling the equipment, tooling, and supplies related needs of NCC. Eg. Pressure washing equipment, cleaning equipment, painting equipment, organizing supplies, shop and all other related tasks.Education & Training: High School Diploma or GED OSHA 10-hour Training Course First Aid/CPRExperience: Minimum 1yr of construction, rigging, or related experienceKnowledge and Abilities: Ability to work as part of a crew Ability to take direction but also to work independently Mechanically inclined candidate preferredPhysical Requirements: Reaching high and low, stooping, and bending continually Lifting/carrying/moving up to 100 pounds continually Able to travel per the company travel policy Able to concentrate at a high degree in a busy and noisy construction environment Able to work in all types of weatherMental Requirements: Converse effectively using both verbal and written communication.
