Preschool Head Teacher

The Head Teacher is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operation of the assigned classroom and providing appropriate programming for children within the classroom in alignment with curriculum needs and expectations.Education Requirements:Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in early childhood, child development, special education, elementary education or the human services OR Associate degree from an accredited college or university in Early Childhood, child development, special education, elementary education or the human services and two years of experience with children OR Child Development Certification with more than 5 years of experience working directly with children.Duties and Responsibilities Include but are Not Limited To:

Treat children and family members with respect and dignity

Being aware of regulations pertaining to the classroom and overall program

Supervising daily classroom activities with the help of Assistant Teachers and Teacher Aides

Working alongside the Academic Director to coordinate the monthly curriculum and planning the daily activities

Planning, implementing and supervising classroom programming appropriate to the developmental needs, talents and interests of the children within the classroom in accordance with established policies and procedures of TLTOW

-Participate in the initial family visit to the classroom by observing and working with the child to ensure that they are a good fit for the program.

Maintain a positive learning environment

Actively supervising children

Always maintain consistent and active interactions

Be able to address issues with other staff in the classrooms as they arise

Maintain student attendance records in Brightwheel and attendance sheets

Take part in transition checklists and communicating with other teachers about children who are moving classrooms

-Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director

Active Clearences for Child Care in Pennsylvania preferred, but not required
