Description Robert Half is offering an exciting opportunity for a Project Accountant for our client based in the Greater Philadelphia area. This Project Accountant role is instrumental to our team and will focus on managing various facets of accounting for our construction projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing accounts payable functions, ensuring accurate billing, and maintaining compliance with construction industry regulations. Responsibilities:
Oversee all accounts payable functions for construction projects, including processing payments to vendors and subcontractors.
Manage the preparation of contractor invoices and payment applications using AIA billing methods.
Utilize Sage 100 or similar construction accounting software to input and track invoices, ensuring timely payments.
Reconcile accounts payable records with project budgets, ensuring all expenses stay within approved limits.
Review and approve subcontractor payment applications, verifying they meet contractual requirements and project specifications.
Ensure compliance with construction lien laws by managing lien waivers and processing payments accordingly.
Collaborate with project managers to track and report project job costs, ensuring financial accuracy.
Assist in the preparation of financial reports, including aging reports and cash flow projections, related to accounts payable.
Requirements
The ideal Project Accountant candidate should have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.Other requirements for the Project Accountant position include and are not limited to:
3+ years AP (AIA Billing) experience
Proficiency in SAGE 100 or other construction accounting
Strong knowledge of construction lien laws, AIA billing procedures, and vendor/subcontractor management.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
