Dontech is an AS9100D / ISO9001:2015 Certified manufacturer specializing in optical coatings and fabrication of optical filters and LCD enhancement services.

Dontech is looking for a candidate to effectively manage manufacturing process and associated Engineering activities in support of Dontech's overall Engineering efforts. Effectively design, implement, maintain, and manage Dontech thin film vacuum coating and associated substrate processes and projects in a professional, cost effective, and profitable manner for the benefit of the Company as a whole. Provide technical support and management for assigned customers and prospects and provide back-up support to the Key Accounts Managers (KAM) and/or Inside Sales Account Managers (ISAM).Key Duties include, but are not limited to:

support assigned customers, processes, and opportunities

coordinate and participate in informal and formal design and process reviews and costing functions

transition customer inputs into design concepts and further into development of quotes, samples, prototypes, and low-rate builds

effectively communicate (internally and externally) technical information pertaining to new and existing programs and products research and implement facility and equipment improvements

facilitates external and internal Engineering correspondence and activity pertaining to assigned customers/programs

keep abreast of current technology and related business trends; participate in job related technical groups and societies; read industry/job related technical literature

successfully promote and provide technical expertise and support for Dontech products and services to potential clients and markets as well as to new opportunities with existing clients

create, monitor, maintain and execute projects within the scope of producing novel optical components and/or assemblies

maintain logs and detailed records of all technical work

CAD and Engineering and production drawing interpretation

facilitate and support continual improvement activities

interface with multiple departments within the organization

interface with outside existing and new vendors and equipment suppliers pertaining to relevant applications and projects

review proposed new and design changes and process changes and work orders incorporating a cross-functional team

support production in addressing process improvements including design of fixtures, yields, and root cause analysis and corrective action including equipment and process issue

provide hands-on technical support to all manufacturing departments

research, evaluate, recommend, and implement changes to methods, processes, equipment, materials and tooling; coordinate changes with manufacturing, QA, engineering, and other departments

facilitate problem solving activities to permanently correct quality defects including management and documentation of corrective actions including customer-issued, Dontech internal, and Dontech-issued to suppliers

create fixtures and tools to improve throughput, efficiency, and yields; generate prints, work orders, and other related documentation

format and manage general data and trend analysis including NCR tracking and yields

maintain process ownership for assigned areas

support production in performing time studies and efficiency analysis

support general process and associated substrate processing area technology, customers, processes, and opportunities as Dontech resource

support production with inspection expertise, product and process evaluation and characterization, equipment maintenance, and troubleshooting including test and measurement equip ent

work with Quality to remediate product returns and integrate preventative actions into the existing processes

assist with R& D, design, and rollout of associated products

establishes/writes work instructions, work orders, and procedures

develop, document and deliver training to employees on new or changed manufacturing processes, methods, and procedures

review drawings and coordinate need and execution of Dontech drawings

perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications:

BS in Engineering (e.g., Optical, Chemical, Mechanical, Materials, Electrical, etc.) or similar technical degree or combination of Associates degree and extensive work experience

3+ years of experience in various thin film coating deposition processes and technologies including ion-enhanced beam evaporation and DC magnetron sputtering, UV, visible, NIR and IR coatings, and associated test and measurement equipment and related standards preferred

3+ year of experience in glass processing including fabrication, dicing/cutting/machining, polishing, etc. and/or polymer substrate processing including slitting, winding, and other roll-to-roll processes

3+ years of experience in products involving LCD display, EMI shielding or optical based in a clean room environment preferred

5+ years of successful hands-on engineering experience preferred

5+ years of experience in manufacturing environment including exposure to manufacturing processes, work instructions, and standard operating procedures

5+ years proven project management and development responsibility preferred

Excellent communication skills, both spoken and written (in English)

Proficient in Microsoft Office skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access

Strong technical writing skills

Excellent follow-up and follow-through skills

CAD interpretation; Solidworks experience a plus

Engineering drawing and production print interpretation

Mechanically inclined and willing to perform "hands on" portion of the job

Ability to be flexible and multi-task in a fast paced, ever-changing engineering/production environment

Problem analysis and problem-solving resolution skills

Attention to detail; proficient organization skills

Ability to get along with diverse personalities; tactful

Ability to be depended on to work at the scheduled time and comply with Dontech's Attendance policy

Ability to be depended on to complete work in a timely, accurate, and thorough manner

Citizenship requirements in compliance with ITAR (US Citizen, US National, lawful US Permanent Resident, or lawful refugee or asylee of the US)
