JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:The Office of Engineering Research Administration (OERA) seeks a highly organized, energetic, and detail-oriented individual to serve as a Proposal and Award Generalist – Intermediate Professional to provide department-level grant and contracting support. In FY23, the College of Engineering was awarded over $144 million in sponsored research awards, submitted over 1,000 proposals, and managed over $118 million in research expenditures.The successful candidate will assist their designated department primarily with post-award management in a high-volume, fast-paced, complex, and deadline-driven environment, which requires multi-tasking and managing priorities, along with resolving complex problems promptly.The College of Engineering is supportive of flexible work arrangements when aligned with the ability to meet the needs of the unit and the essential duties of the position. Questions related to flexible work should be directed to the hiring manager during the interview process.Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Assist faculty in departmental-level post-award management, from start to finish, on each grant, including cost share and effort monitoring.

Monitor accounts to ensure faculty are spending according to award and budget expectations for regulatory and financial compliance, including allowability of expenses and ensuring cost share requirements are met.

Facilitate budget revisions, no-cost extensions, grant closeouts, and invoicing requests.

Verify account sustainability and allowability, as well as calculate costs of expenditures including graduate assistantship expenses, capital equipment, IT related equipment, etc. Monitor all accounts associated with grants including cost share accounts, milestone payment accounts, fabrication accounts, etc.

Communicate with various staff, faculty, departments, or units within and outside of the College of Engineering to manage budgets and expenditures.

May occasionally assist with proposals, including cost share requirements.

This position typically requires an Associate’s Degree or higher plus two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
