In conjunction with Administrative Director of Operations, provides leadership, administrative support and management for the department. Works in collaborative partnership with the division's clinical leadership, nursing, providers and other clinical staff. Promotes and insures that the highest quality of care is provided to patients and families in the department. Responsible for the coordination of all operational responsibilities for the department. Coordinates all aspects impacting patient care and procedures in the department. Ensures compliance with patient care quality and safety standards as it relates to the care provided to all age groups. Maintains and participates in performance improvement activities. Assure competency of all personnel. Maintains efficient and effective section operation while requiring compliance with all TJC, state, federal and local regulatory laws, standards and protocols. The responsibilities of this position include collaborating with the other Supervisors within Periop to develop and manage all aspects of patient care, personnel, fiscal and material resources.

Responsibilities:

Supervisor Radiology Technicians1.Duties as assigned by the Senior Leadership of Perioperative Services2.Supervising the day to day activities of PeriOperative Radiology Technicians a.Ensuring that the Radiology Techs is a high performing team b.Support coverage is meeting the needs of PeriOperative Services c.Staff recruitment and training d.Staff competencies and required certifications e.Staff time cards, schedules, performance evaluations, disciplinary actions f.Investigate Safety Nets and other issues regarding staff performance g.Compliance with regulatory and governing agencies3.Ensure that intra-departmental and inter-departmental activities are coordinated with the appropriate leadership in a cooperative manner.4.Prepare and provide budgetary and planning recommendations as requested from PeriOperative Services Leadership.5.Effectively communicate issues to PeriOperative Services LeadershipPreference Card Management1. Oversee the management of Preference card process as directed by PeriOperative Services Leadership, including additions, deletions, inactivation and reactivation of Preference Cards and requested modifications to preference cards.2. Ensure that preference cards are accurate for supplies and equipment and serve as an effective tool by routinely and consistently seeking the input of the key stakeholders, both clinical and support.3. Report to PeriOperative Services Leadership of requested modifications and recommendationsStaff Orientation – New Hires Non Nursing1. Provide the required orientation to all new non nursing staff of PeriOperative services ensuring that staff are provided with a comprehensive and consistent instructional course.Explant and CMS Compliance1. Monitor the necessary explants / implants process per the CMS guidelines to ensure that PeriOperative Services is in compliance with Medicare reporting requirements and UPHS Office of Compliance2. Utilize Champion Software and EPIC Optime to track and document compliance with Vendors, Billing, and PeriOperative Services.3. Work in cooperation with other involved departments, such as Pathology, Risk Management, and Regulatory.4. Assist with the development and supporting policies and procedures.Position Requirements1.Effective communications skills, verbal and written.2.Proficiency with analyzing large sources of data and data from multiple sources to recognizing trends, issues, 3.Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, EPIC, Estar, and other software and tools to effectively perform the required tasks and responsibilities of this position in productive manner.4.Emotional intelligence and maturity5.Flexibility with work hours to meet the demands of 24/7 department6.Ability to accept accountability 7.Ability to effectively manage conflict

Credentials:

ARDSM or ARMRIT or ARRT or NMTCB (Required)

Current Licensure in relevant modality - ARRT, ARMRIT, ARDMS, or NMTCB

Education or Equivalent Experience:

Associate of Arts or Science (Required)

Education Specialization:Business, Health or Related fieldEquivalent Experience:And 3+ years Experience as a Team Lead, Supervisor, Manager, or Administrator of a Health Department.
