Senior Java/API Developer

Position Description CGI is hiring a Java Developer to join our dynamic team.

Your future duties and responsibilities• Creates and leads the technical design and development of software solutions.• Proposes & designs software solutions to address complex business needs. Prepares technical and procedural documentation required.• Design and maintain APIs, services, and different payment sources.• Work with API developers across the teams to build new API features at large-scale.• Facilitates complex problem resolution.• Provides technical guidance and support to colleagues• Reviews coding, testing, and documentation of software.• Applies modern principles, methodologies and tools to advance business initiatives and capabilities.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role• Expert in Java and design technique• Experience working on large strategic initiatives and building enterprise applications using Java.• 6 + years on Java and Spring framework (Spring MVC, Spring boot, Spring security)• 6+ years of experience creating APIs and web services using Representational State Transfer (REST) software architectural style.• Should have experience with Red hat OpenShift Container platform• Should have experience with developing SOAP Web services using Java technologies (Consumer & Producer)• Proficient and hands on experience with Application Servers (WebSphere, Tomcat, JBoss)• 3+ years of relational database, specifically Oracle (SQL - PL/SQL)• Strong knowledge on DevOps tools and Continue Integration (CI) process• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required for the role
