- Provide technical oversight and guidance to business owners/managers in the analysis, design, engineering, testing, documentation, implementation, maintenance, and operation of network components.
- Oversee network administration, installations, and upgrades along with designing, deploying, and supporting relevant networking technologies
- Work to solve problems through collaboration with team members
- Troubleshoot problems with a high-level overview of client environments
- Willingness to certify and maintain relevant certifications for vendor partnership levels
- Identify opportunities to increase the team's productivity
- Track time, activity, and communication through GDC's suite of applications.
- Bachelor's or higher degree in an IT related field -or-
- Current Network Industry Standard Certification
- 8+ years of recent IT experience with at least 5 being as an Engineer (installing, upgrading, managing, administering network equipment)
- 5+ years of architecture experience (Designing Multiple Environments not just administering)
- Background working in variety of environments and/or various clients, consulting experience is a plus.
- Experience gathering client and project needs, allocating resources, and ordering necessary equipment
- Ability to plan out a variety of client projects that involve networks, security camera systems, firewalls etc.
- Ability to lead and mentor team members on best practices and processes
- Ability to work at a client site independently
- Specific technical skills desired (not necessary to have all):
- Configuration, installation, upgrading, and migrating of network devices - SonicWall, Cisco, Aruba, HP, Palo Alto, Ubiquiti, Fortinet, Meraki, and other major vendor equipment.
- Configuration, installation, upgrading, and migrating of Wireless Networking Devices - Ubiquiti, Cisco, Aruba, Ruckus, and all other major vendors
- Experience with networking in Azure and/or AWS.
- Experience with Firewall functions such as NAT/PAT and VPN.
- Experience with Static Routing.
- Experience with Dynamic Routing Protocols (EIRGRP, OSPF, BGP).
- Knowledge of Spanning-Tree and Port-Channels.
- Experience with High Availability Concepts.
- An understanding of SD-WAN, QoS, and Traffic Shaping.
- The ability to design detailed network drawings.
- Troubleshooting all aspects of a network infrastructure such as LAN & WAN connectivity issues
- Coordination of efforts between vendors
- Previous Technical Consulting Experience
- VOIP Experience is a plus.
