Our client has an immediate need for a

Senior Linux Administrator, who will be responsible for the implementation, configuration, and daily monitoring and maintenance of Commvault backup and recovery environment.

Requirements:
  • 8 + years of Linux Administration experience in business environment
  • 5+ years of Backup Administration experience in Commvault Enterprise Backup Solutions (Commvault Master Certification a plus)
  • Experience creating detailed Commvault reports
  • Experience managing backup storage targets
  • experience in concepts such as data and information life cycle management, disaster recovery, and software performance tuning
  • Experience with virtualization on Hyper-V, VMWare and/or Nutanix in complex, distributed or clustered environments
  • Experience/exposure with other backup software and concepts from Symantec, EMC, Veeam, Cohesity, etc
  • Experience with RedHat or Oracle Linux Certification is a plus
  • Security clearance is a plus

Responsibilities:
  • Reviewing daily backup reports to remedy failures and increase job success rates
  • Collecting, analyzing, and documenting information about the current Commvault environment
  • Assisting with ongoing deployment of Commvault software features
  • Performing systems operation support, including storage and server system administration, general troubleshooting, and troubleshooting of complex engineering issues for hardware, software, and network components
  • Participating in disaster recovery (DR) planning and execution in support of customer requirements
  • Performing system, as well as file and directory, restores as requested by internal customers
  • Performing daily duties related to system health monitoring and system integrity assurance including patching and upgrade
  • Maintaining configuration compliance to avoid risks of system outages or compromised data
