Position Summary:The Shift Supervisor supervises and manages the safety and performance of a shift operating team. Responsible for all activities from receiving raw materials, production, power, shipping, maintenance, quality and environmental. This is a rotating shift position. Essential Job Functions: Administers and models safety in his/her area of responsibility; Participates in and enforces the safety program for the shift employees; reviews safety records to uphold standards of maximum safety for all shift employees. Ensures compliance with all applicable OSHA and plant safety standards.

Troubleshoots operations and quality issues.

Coordinates maintenance activities.

Utilizes and maintains JDE system for work order entry.

Must be able to build a team that can effectively work the shift; monitor employee performance; train employees; and issue discipline as required.

Maintain effective communication both on assigned shift and across shifts with other supervisors in both production, shipping, and maintenance.

Creates employee schedules and monitors time through the Kronos timekeeping system.

Maintains and consistently applies a thorough working knowledge of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Maintains compliance with all environmental policies and procedures; ensures that all city, county, state, and federal regulations relating to the maintenance crews are met at all times.

Essential Job Requirements: EDUCATION Minimum of HS graduate; BS degree preferred EXPERIENCE Minimum of 5 years supervisory experience in the paper industry or similar experience. REQUIRED SKILLS Excellent problem-solving ability Ability to communicate effectively

Strong organizational and leadership skills

Computer experience - Microsoft Office
