Essential Functions: Provide engineering support for the assembly and integration of a variety of mid to large-sized prototype and state-of-the-art structural composites assemblies for internal L3Harris systems and external commercial customers.

Support functions such as assembly, machine shop, quality, supply chain

Monitor assembly process quality.

Propose and lead assembly process improvement projects.

Interface with and direct technicians and other operations personnel.

Interact with hardware designers through specifications of functional requirements for assembly and integration support equipment.

Support design engineering, analysis, program management and IPT leads, process development, and proposal activities.

Ability to provide strong leadership to teams made up of engineers and technicians

Ability to work collaboratively with a team of highly skilled process/metrology engineers and technicians.

Proof of strong problem-solving capability, people skills, and the ability to conduct presentations for management, technical experts, and customers.

Create and deliver presentations for Peer Reviews, Manufacturing Readiness Reviews, internal management reviews, and customer reviews.

Evaluate and quantify scope of work required for Returned Good Authorizations and Depot Operations

Development of detailed Work instructions utilizing pictures and clear verbiage to guide operators in building assemblies to drawing specifications

Development of production routers detailing the required steps to complete assemblies start to finish

Creation of BOMs (Bills of Material) and Parts Lists for Depot Operations related to assembly routers / work instructions

Provide active manufacturing engineering support to the Depot to push progress

Maintain routers for accuracy and make edits where necessary for efficiency, sequence improvements, etc.

Maintain BOMs for accuracy and make edits based on official revision releases

Standard work improvements

Assist new/existing employees in basic workmanship training, on the job shadowing, tool & gauge implementation, etc.

Provide leadership in Tooling & Gauge improvements to drive efficiency, rid of non-value added tasks, eliminate confusing tasks, and drive the culture improvement

Qualifications:

Experience with machinery, machine building and precision engineering

Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/ Associates Degree and a minimum of 8 years of prior related experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.

4 years of experience in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint, Visio), data analysis techniques and the use of other applicable software applications such as Matlab

Experience and knowledge of technical writeups

Ability to execute responsibilities with minimal supervision and work effectively within a team in a fast-paced changing environment.

Strong organizational, planning, and ability to multi-task, prioritize, and meet deadlines in a timely manner.

Strong command of the English Language (written, reading, and oral skills) to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization.

Must have strong interpersonal skills

Able to contribute to a department or cross-functional problem-solving team
