This SQL Developer/Data Analyst role uses your skills and experience to define, develop, test, analyze, and maintain new and existing SQL code in support of the achievement of business requirements. This includes writing, coding, testing, and analyzing reports, SSIS and SSRS packages, along with ERP system issues. This person will also research, design, document, and modify code specifications throughout the production life cycle. Responsibilities Strategy & Planning Collaborate with IT Staff, Administrative Staff and End Users to help design SQL code to deliver requested needs. Analyze and assess existing business systems and reports. Assist in the definition, development, and documentation for business requirements, objectives, deliverables, and specifications on a project-by-project basis in collaboration with internal users and departments. Assist in writing code for software development project plans, including scoping, scheduling, and implementation. Research, identify, analyze, and fulfill requirements of all internal and external report users. Help troubleshoot ERP system issues and EDI document issues as they arise. Work with other staff to automate and enhance our current systems. Operational Management Liaise with network administrators, systems analysts, and software engineers to assist in resolving problems with SQL code or company software systems. Consistently write, translate, and develop SQL and reports according to specifications. Write programming scripts to enhance functionality and/or performance of company applications as necessary. Design, run and monitor SQL performance tests on new and existing code for the purposes of correcting errors, isolating areas for improvement, and general debugging. Administer critical analysis of test results and deliver solutions to problem areas. Generate statistics and write reports for management and/or team members on the status of the programming process. Develop and maintain user manuals and guidelines. Train end users to operate new or modified programs and/or reports. Liaise with EDI vendor to code data input/output with ERP system and troubleshoot inconsistent data. Position Requirements Formal Education & Certification College diploma or university degree in the field of computer science, information systems, or software engineering, and/or 5 years equivalent work experience. Knowledge & Experience Proficiency in SQL Scripting. Excellent understanding of MS SQL and best practices. Strong understanding of database structures, theories, principles, and practices. Extensive relational database and operating systems experience with MS SQL on Windows. Thorough understanding of SSIS and SSRS. Understanding of how EDI works and file types. Prior experience working with ERP systems, finance teams and production reporting. Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment. Ability to work both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment. Work Conditions On-call availability for emergencies. Overtime hours may be required to meet project deadlines. Sitting for extended periods of time. Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and other devices. Some travel may be required for the purpose of new site onboarding or issues. This is an onsite position, but some hybrid work can be discussed.
