Description We are looking for a dedicated Sr. Accountant to join our team in the construction industry, North of PIttsburgh. The role involves reconciling accounts, maintaining the general ledger, and creating journal entries. The position will also be responsible for handling the month-end close process and managing accounts payable and receivable.Responsibilities Oversee the reconciliation of accounts to ensure accuracy and consistency in the company's financials. Maintain the general ledger system, ensuring all financial data is updated and accurate. Prepare journal entries, including the correction of financial errors in a timely and accurate manner. Manage the month-end close process, ensuring all financial data is accounted for and reported accurately. Handle accounts payable and receivable, ensuring all transactions are processed accurately and on time. Use Microsoft Excel and other accounting software such as NetSuite, Oracle, and SAP for financial management and reporting. Prepare balance sheet reconciliations to verify account balances and rectify any discrepancies. Apply construction accounting principles in analyzing financial information and preparing financial reports. Perform bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy in the company's financial records. Prepare journal entries to record business transactions and events accurateRequirements Must possess a minimum of 5 years of experience in the field of accounting, preferably within the construction industry Proficiency in account reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, and bank reconciliations is mandatory Demonstrated experience with general ledger management and journal entry preparation is required Familiarity with construction accounting principles and practices is essential Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is necessary for managing and manipulating data Experience with month-end close procedures is essential Knowledge of accounting software such as NetSuite, Oracle, and SAP is required Experience with general ledger systems is expected A professional certification such as CPA or CMA would be advantageous Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills are essential Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required Must be able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously Strong attention to detail and accuracy is necessary Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is preferred.
