This role is integral in leading the development and implementation of Corporate Policies, Products and Procedures to ensure compliance with DEA, OSHA (1910.1200), GHS, TSCA 12b export reporting, WHIMS-GHS, EPA, FIFRA, FDA, and other Federal, State and Local laws regulating Fisher Scientific’s business portfolio. This position must use sound regulatory judgment to monitor new products against current controls and product/chemical screening processes to ensure compliance issues are satisfied prior to the sale of products to our customers.What will you do?

Acts as Regulatory point of contact with Federal, State and Local agencies on channel matters and audits while ensuring updates and changes are appropriately facilitated

Monitors changes to Federal, State and Local regulations that affect the sale of Fisher Scientific channel products; leads development and implementation of compliance activities and programs specific to any critical changes, including support of IT technical solutions

Develops and maintains new and existing Regulatory Standard Operating Procedures and Work Instructions for systems and processes via Master Control

Leads daily regulatory operations while coordinating the accurate and timely coding/blocking of items via screening processes

Assists customers (internal/external) with compliance issues, offering guidance and expertise regarding the sale of products through the Fisher Scientific channel; reviews customer requests for changes in Suspicious Order Status

Supports team in coordinating regulatory reporting for California Department of Pesticide Regulation, TSCA 12b, DEA sales, Address Overrides and maintenance

Responsible for GHS Safety Data Sheets (SDSs) for both internal and external products

Responsible for the channel’s utilization of the WERCS Regulatory Database Enterprise instance; supervises the development/authoring of product SDSs (as needed) in accordance with OSHA Hazard Communication Standards within the WERCS database

How will you get here?Education

BA/BS Degree in science preferred, business-related disciplines considered

Experience

8+ years of experience in Regulatory, Product Compliance Management or equivalent discipline

3+ years directly leading a team

Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications with demonstrated ability to document processes and find opportunities for optimization

Demonstrated abilities to lead projects

Experience with WHMIS/GHS/WERCS/LOLI applications and software a plus

Experience with Oracle Product Hub or mainframe applications a plus

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

Excellent leadership, interpersonal, customer orientation and presentation skills

Proven effective organizational, time management and decision-making skills

Multi-tasking experience, flexibility, and understanding of business impact to address immediate priorities while handling deadlines with longer-term projects and critical initiatives

Ability to manage with minimal supervision

Ability to work in a highly matrixed environment, inclusive of conflict resolution

Ability to drive resolution of issues by bringing teams together - both internally and externally.
