Job Overview

The Maintenance Mechanic III will be responsible for the maintenance and operation of automated and manual assembly machines. This position requires the ability to machine tooling and a strong mechanical background. The Maintenance Mechanic will work 1st shift hoursMonday – Friday 6:45 AM – 3:15 PM. Must be willing to work extended hours and weekends as required.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Complete scheduled preventative maintenance tasks and rebuilds. Revise existing maintenance PM checklists in order to improve the effectiveness of each machine-specific PM to eliminate recurring breakdowns.
  • Perform periodic inspections of operator maintenance checklists. Ensure production personnel are performing and documenting scheduled operator maintenance activities.
  • Support setup personnel and operators in the daily operation of equipment.
  • Complete maintenance work requests and implement corrective actions to address machine downtime.
  • Fabricate/machine tooling and components.
  • Order, inventory, and catalogue spare tooling for critical equipment.
  • Support engineering and continuous improvement initiatives that improve efficiency and reduce downtime.
  • Support the deployment of lean manufacturing and participate in Kaizen events.
  • Assist with machine guarding improvements, LOTO audits, and safety efforts for select assembly machines.

What your background should look like:

  • High School diploma.
  • 5 years experience maintaining production equipment and tooling fabrication.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair production equipment from verbal instructions, blueprints, and machine manuals.
  • Strong organizational and written skills with the ability to work independently.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and MS Word with a working knowledge of MS Outlook.
  • Must possess good physical dexterity and have the ability to perform manual tasks and body movements including climbing, lifting, reaching, stooping, and bending.
  • Must provide own hand tools.
  • This position requires access to information which is subject to stringent controls under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR)or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). Applicants must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. lawful permanent resident,person granted asylee status in the U.S., or person admitted into the U.S. as a refugee.
