Description The Staff Accountant is a new position and a key member in ensuring accurate financial reporting through month end close, budgeting forecasting support, and financial analysis. This position assists with analyzing current costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations incurred to predict future revenues and expenses. Must possess a good attitude, flexibility, and willingness to learn. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES including the following:Assist in continual improvement of all accounting policies, procedures, and systems to ensure accurate financial statements are generated in a timely manner to meet the growth and profitability objectives. This would include:· Play a key role in the month-end closing process, including preparing journal entries, rolling forward reports, and generating financial statements.· Assist with maintaining and improving internal controls related to financial processes and reporting.· Aid in preparing annual budgets and forecasts with monthly variation analyses.· Support the gathering, organizing, and providing reports for internal and external audits, Sarbanes Oxley testing, and other engagement as deemed necessary.· Perform daily tasks including but not limited to recording daily credit card deposits, maintain sales reconciliation, review job costs daily for reasonableness and close as deemed appropriate.· Complete weekly tasks including but not limited to updating weekly KPI and assist in preparing weekly check runs.· Participate in annual physical inventory, including perform test counts, reconcile inventory counts with book records, investigating and explaining any variances.· Share in monthly bank reconciliation process.· Perform other related duties as required and assigned.SKILLS:· Understanding of accounting principles and practices.· Prior accounting experience (journal entries, fluctuation analysis, account reconciliations) preferred.· Manufacturing experience is a plus.· Experience using financial software for reporting and analysis is a plus.· Proven experience managing competing priorities under time constraints.· Ability to prioritize multiple tasks.· Deadline and detail oriented.· Proficient in MS Office and Excel including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and financial modeling.Requirements Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field. Proficiency in General Ledger is required. Familiarity with the Sarbanes Oxley Act and associated compliance requirements is necessary. Successful applicants should have a minimum of 1 year of accounting experience. Strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, are expected. Candidates should have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills are crucial. Applicants must be detail-oriented and organized. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team is essential. Knowledge of financial reporting and data management is needed. Candidates should have the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines efficiently. Knowledge of accounting software is a plus. Strong ethical standards and integrity in professional conduct is required.
