Assist in planning, administration and evaluation of the department operations to accomplish goals and strategic initiatives. Responsible for managing daily operations of the Pharmacy.Eligible candidates will be offered a sign-on bonus of up to $10,000 based on their years of experience!Responsibilities:

Interact with patients and other health care professionals to complete home medication lists, completes admission medication reconciliation, educates on proper medication usage, adjusts medication doses based on renal function and drug levels and performs other clinical initiatives when applicable per policy.

Actively participate in medication safety programs. Active participation means identifying opportunities to improve safety (reporting errors and adverse drug events) and implementing system-based changes as a result of those opportunities.

Prepare medications by reviewing and interpreting physician orders; detecting therapeutic incompatibilities, assuring safe and effective indication, dose, route and administration times.

Coordinate orientation, training and competency assessment of employees.

Maintain compliance with established Pharmacy Departments policies and procedures, professional practice guidelines, state pharmacy laws and regulatory standards.

Act as liaison between service areas and the pharmacy team by coordinating services and resolving issues or problems to ensure a highly effective medication use system.

Dispense medications by compounding, packaging and labeling medications in accordance with professional practice guidelines, state pharmacy laws and regulatory standards.

Audits controlled substance systems and follow up on all unresolved discrepancies.

Complete pharmacy operational requirements by organizing and directing technicians' work flow, verifying their sterile and non sterile medication preparation and labeling of pharmaceuticals.

B.S. degree in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm D.) required.

Two years of supervisory experience required. Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

Current licensure as a Pharmacist in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania required

Authorization to administer injectables required within one year for retail pharmacies, preferred for inpatient pharmacies.
