Our client has an immediate need for a
Systems Analyst who will be responsible for providing Server OS installs, upgrades, patching, maintenance, and support in a heavily industrialized facility environment.Requirements:- Bachelor's Degree required or university degree in the field of computer science and/or 4 years equivalent work experience
- 2-4 years of experience supporting an enterprise network, or equivalent, as a System Administrator
- Experience with data Center Facilities Management skills, including UPS, power distribution, fire suppression, HVAC, structured cabling, and related technologies
- Experience with Server and storage management, support, and troubleshooting in an Enterprise environment
- Experience implementing and maintaining NetApp storage, VMware, ESXI, and VEEAM solutions
- Experience with Solarwinds SNMP monitoring is a plus
- Experience with RDP, iLO, and VCenter is a plus
- Preparing high-level and detailed technical specifications
- Working collaboratively with the Project Manager
- Consulting and incorporating systems solutions that will benefit the business.
- Applying communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help identify, communicate, and resolve server issues in order to maximize the benefit of IT server investments
- 24/7 off-hours support including weekends and evenings as required
- Analyzing day-to-day functions and processes of servers and operating systems - including interaction with application software and database resources to ensure the servers are performing within predetermined guidelines, limits, and specifications
- Identifying and resolving operating system issues in order to maintain services, enhance capabilities, and prevent system outages
- Working within an organized change control system and ticketing request system
- Preparing and delivering reports, recommendations, or alternatives that address existing and potential trouble areas in operating systems across the organization
- Assisting in the planning, designing, and development of new solutions and enhancements to existing server implementations
- Meeting with decision makers, systems owners, and end users to define business requirements and server goals, and identify and resolve server issues
- Ensuring compatibility and interoperability of in-house computing systems
- Reviewing and analyzing the effectiveness and efficiency of existing servers and developing strategies for improving or further leveraging existing servers
- Assisting in the deployment of new servers and enhancements to existing servers
- Conducting research on hardware and OS enhancements to justify recommendations and support purchasing efforts
- Assisting with the development and implementation of an Emergency Action Plan for Server recovery
- Creating server installation and upgrade proposals
- Coordinating and performing in-depth tests, including end-user reviews, for modified and new servers.
