Our client in Philadelphia, PA is looking for a Systems Administrator to join their team. This is a hybrid position on a 1+ year contract.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Secure, maintain, and continuously improve a 24x7 infrastructure environment to run the company's software and computing systems.
  • Ensure that the cloud and on-premise environments operate in a resilient manner and are recoverable in the event of a regional disaster or outage.
  • Assist the information security team in the monitoring and implementation of improvements to information security tools and systems to continue to add protections and defense for the firm's infrastructure, systems, and data.
  • Install, upgrade, configure, and maintain various server environments.
  • Configure and maintain cloud infrastructure, platforms, and services (Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Office365).
  • Participate in the maturation and development of current DevOps practices to help improve efficiency, reliability, and accuracy of deployments and other repetitive tasks
  • Analysis and optimization of cloud and on-premise workloads.
  • Perform daily system monitoring, verify the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems, and key processes, reviewing system and applications logs and verifying completion of scheduled jobs.
  • Monitor security systems to identify any possibly incidents or intrusions.
  • Install new software releases, perform systems upgrades, and evaluate and install patches.
  • Perform daily back-up operations, ensuring all required file systems and system data are successfully backed up to the appropriate media and that media is properly managed.
  • Participate in end-to-end delivery of technology projects including managing scope, quality, and schedule.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve system problems and emergencies.
  • Implement, maintain, and test disaster recovery for corporate computing environment.
  • Maintains contemporary knowledge of relevant, state-of-the-art technology, equipment and/or systems.
  • Perform after-hours and weekend changes, maintenance, and deployments as necessary.
  • Resolution of incidents and requests in IT Service Management platform
  • Document and diagram systems and processes

Job Requirements:

  • Strong working knowledge of managing Windows and Linux systems in AWS
  • Strong working knowledge of managing core services within Infrastructure-as-a-Service environments (IaaS) such as storage, compute, and load-balancing
  • Strong working knowledge of Active Directory, DNS, and DHCP.
  • Strong working knowledge of Windows server configuration and management.
  • Strong working knowledge of file systems and file system management (e.g. CIFS/SMB, NFS).
  • Working knowledge of the configuration of AWS infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (e.g. Terraform, CloudFormation).
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Azure, Office365, Exchange Online and Intune Mobile Device Management.
  • Strong technical troubleshooting and resolution skills.
  • Experience with one or more enterprise systems management tools (e.g. SCCM, Chef, Puppet, Ansible, Salt).
  • Experience with modern identity and access management tools and protocols (Okta, ADFS, SAML, OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, SCIM).
  • Experience with Privileged Access Management systems (e.g. Centrify).
  • Experience with one or more scripting languages (e.g. Powershell, Python, JS).
  • Knowledge of DevOps concepts (automation, agile, continuous integration/continuous deployment, infrastructure as code, cross functional product teams) and tools (Jenkins, Terraform, Docker, Git, Bamboo, Jira).
  • Experience with VMWare vSphere, vCenter, ESX, and related systems.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of security practices and technologies and their potential impact.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of communications devices and protocols.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of advanced management and monitoring tools.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, activities, and tasks simultaneously.
  • Understanding of common ITSM processes (i.e. incident, request, change, and problem).
  • Highly developed verbal and written communications
