The Challenge:We are seeking a software engineering manager to join our Connected Living group in our Technology and Product Experience (TPX). Our group is responsible for customer-facing application development for Home Security, Home Network Management, and Internet of Things product offerings. This includes the native iOS and Android Xfinity application, which manages our cloud enabled gateway for millions of homes and is growing internationally.The Task:In this role, you will directly manage 5-10 people ranging in experience, including full-time-employees and contractors. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to lead multiple project initiatives, providing guidance to engineering teams and other departments in identifying product and technical requirements. The ideal candidate can articulate what she or he has learned from past management or other leadership experiences and how their values have shaped the growth of a team. This person should demonstrate an interest in others with an eye towards creating an inclusive team culture. Qualifications:• 1+ years managing software engineers, or acting as technical leader of a team• Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills• Knowledge of Agile Software Development Life Cycle• Knowledge of Continuous Integration and Deployment tools• Experience with HTTP and RESTful web services• A strong sense of ownership and responsibility for code quality that follows best practiceBonus Experience:• Setting goals, and developing career plans for software engineers• Knowledge of either Android or iOS native mobile applications development• Providing guidance to engineering teams and other departments in identifying product and technical requirementsConnected Living leaders are passionate about teamwork, growth opportunities, and creating awesome experiences for customers.
