Piper Companies is in need of a a

Telecommunication Technician/Engineer for a major healthcare system located in

Philadelphia, PA.

This is a fulltime, salaried opportunity.

Responsibilities:

Installs, configures and troubleshoots voice and data communications equipment and cabling throughout the campus and remote sites, including wireless communications devices, Cisco switches, Cisco VoIP telephones, and other telecommunications equipment and systems, including Northern PBX and Centrex.
Performs complex moves, adds, and changes to telephony systems, i.e., adding circuit cards and modules into systems and configuring with minimal supervision.
Keeps supplies ready by inventorying stock; placing orders; verifying receipt.
Verifies service by testing circuits, equipment, and alarms, identifying, correcting, or escalating problems.
Maintains network by troubleshooting and repairing outages; testing network back-up procedures; providing alternative solutions during outages and updating documentation.
Communication with customers as required: keeping them informed of incident progress, notifying them of impending changes or agreed.
Ensure proper installation of fiber optic, coaxial, CAT5e, CAT6 cabling in IDF and MDF data center closets.
