Piper Companies is currently seeking a

Telephony Engineer for a

global Healthcare Company based in Philadelphia.

PRIMARY FUNCTION :

The

Telephony Engineer will be responsible for installation and maintenance of all voice systems and data communications equipment on and off site for renovations, new construction, and daily requests for service.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Installs, configures, and troubleshoots voice and data communications equipment and cabling throughout local and remote sites, including wireless communications devices, Cisco switches, Cisco VoIP telephones, and other telecommunications equipment and systems, including Northern PBX and Centrex.

• Performs complex moves, adds, and changes to telephony systems, i.e. adding circuit cards and modules into systems and configuring with minimal supervision.

• Verifies service by testing circuits, equipment, and alarms, identifying, correcting, or escalating problems.

• Maintains network by troubleshooting and repairing outages; testing network back-up procedures; providing alternative solutions during outages and updating documentation. Communication with customers as required: keeping them informed of incident progress, notifying them of impending changes or agreed.

• Ensures proper installation of fiber optic, coaxial, CAT5e, CAT6 cabling in IDF and MDF data center closets.

Responsibilities for the Telephony Engineer:

Responsible for all telephony service and support, relating to all telecommunications technology, to include VoIP, voicemail systems, ACD, IVR and traditional telecommunications systems, networks, and vendor specific hardware and software. Interprets service orders, circuit diagrams, and electrical schematics. Tests, locates, and repairs equipment problems associated with trouble calls, and performs routine maintenance. Proactive analyses, troubleshooting and resolution of telecommunications systems, cabling, and circuit issues in a timely manner. Interacts with end-users and all levels of management in developing solutions to problems or creating efficiencies pertaining to telecom processes that impact the business

Qualifications for the Telephony Engineer:

• 7-10+ years of experience in telephony service and support

Compensation for the Telephony Engineer:

• Salary Range: $100-125k+
