Test Technician 1 (Quality Assurance Laboratory Technician)

Description: POSITION TITLE: Quality Assurance Laboratory TechnicianUnder general direction of supervisor, perform a variety of complex operations to test the chemical, physical mechanical, dimensional, and electrical characteristics and specifications for all materials, parts, and assemblies. Procure test samples and perform qualitative and quantitative analysis, to chemically maintain all chemical or finishing process systems. Prepare analytical solutions for the performance of all chemical tests. Inspects heat-treated materials for compliance with specifications and qualitative analysis of chemical characteristics on raw materials for incoming inspection. Perform operations to electrically test all types of electrical components and devices. Check mechanical and dimensional attributes per applicable requirements. Operate all types of machine tools and use measuring instruments to design, fabricate, assemble, maintain, and certify testing aides, devices, and laboratory process systems equipment. Analyze and evaluate test results, make recommendations to rectify deficiencies and other similar problems. Consult with external and internal technical personnel to substantiate or resolve test results.Prepare and maintain required reports, charts, graphs and other documentary records of chemical, electrical, physical, dimensional and mechanical tests or processes. Use personal computer and related interfaces, as required. Follow established applicable procedures, standard technical practices, and verbal directions as required. Instruct lower-rated personnel as directed by supervisor.
