Responsibilities
Become part of a dedicated group of professionals who excel in the care of highly diverse patient population in a team based atmosphere. 3 Thompson is a one of a kind, 19 bed emergency department-based observation unit at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. This unit's focus is on the provision of care to patients requiring a period of Observation before a medical decision can be made regarding patient admission vs. discharge. The observation team works closely with the ED staff to provide complete care for the ED patient through their stay. Nurses on this unit are highly competent to care for a variety of high acuity patients, while maintaining a focus of compassionate patient and family centered careCovid Vaccination is a requirement for employment at Jefferson for employees working at Jefferson's clinical entities or at the University. If you are not currently vaccinated you will be required to receive the vaccination prior to hire date if you are offered employment, unless you request and receive an approved medical or religious exemption from Jefferson.Since this position will require the selected candidate to engage in regular contact with children in the form of care, guidance, supervision or training, you will be required to meet the requirements of the Child Protective Services Act, including the Pennsylvania State Police criminal background check, the Pennsylvania Department of Welfare child abuse criminal background clearance, and an FBI finger print based federal criminal records check.
