THE POSITION

In this position, you will be responsible for supervising the operations of PENNDOT Welcome Centers. You and your teams will provide the motoring public visiting Welcome Center facilities with effective, efficient and accurate information and resources to shape their travel plans. Represent the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania by greeting, welcoming and assisting guests, maintaining a working knowledge of Pennsylvania's highways, transportation systems, public and private attractions and recreation areas, events, weather conditions, accommodations and tourist attractions, and by providing printed information to these guests. Additional duties involve public relations, support of internal and external communications to improve operations, quarterly meetings surrounding events, programs and services, and more!Work Schedule and Additional Information:Full-time employment

This position works a 6-week rotating 40-hour per week work schedule. Days and hours can vary from Sunday to Saturday, hours of operation are temporarily 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM, with a 30-minute unscheduled lunch until further notice.

This position requires overtime.

Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

One year as a Tourist Information Counselor; or

Two years of experience in work involving public contact; or

An equivalent combination of experience and training.Additional Requirement:

You must be able to perform essential job functions.Preferred Qualifications (not required):
