Test & Validation Engineer (Mechanical)

Location: Morgantown, PA

How You Will Make an Impact?

The Test and Validation Engineer conducts activities by supporting multiple departments through testing, evaluation in the R&D lab and in-plant studies.

The Nuts and Bolts
  • Conducts testing activities to ensure that Morgan Corporation creates the most efficient truck bodies in the world.
  • Supports Engineering on projects and challenges through testing, evaluation, and in-plant studies as required. This may require travel to other Morgan facilities.
  • Develops new test programs to support the Purchasing, Warranty, and Production departments.
  • Utilizes established mathematical and scientific techniques to compile and analyze data.
  • Applies research theories, principles, and models when conducting experiments and research activities.
  • Design test fixtures for product evaluation as necessary.
  • Writes technical reports and summarizes by detailing procedures, outcomes, and observations.
  • Maintains the test log and manages and organizes incoming test requests.
  • Assesses the scope of research projects and ensures projects are on time and within budget.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Credentials
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field (Mechanical Engineering preferred) or equivalent experience
  • 2-4 years of related manufacturing experience
  • Knowledge of fundamental fabrication skills including welding and machining
  • Proficiency in using measuring devices including tape measure, dial calipers, and micrometers
  • Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel
  • Excellent communication skills

You Must Be Able to
  • Working in an office environment in a seated position a minimum of eight hours per day is required. Individuals may need to sit or stand as needed. May require walking primarily on a level surface for periodic periods throughout the day. Reaching above shoulder heights, below the waist or lifting as required to file documents or store materials throughout the workday.
  • This job operates in a manufacturing plant environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms
