THE POSITIONThe County Maintenance Office is currently looking for a skilled welder to join their seasonal winter maintenance program. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing a wide range of welding, brazing, and metal cutting tasks on both ferrous and non-ferrous materials and equipment. DESCRIPTION OF WORKIn this role, you will be responsible for autonomously interpreting and utilizing welding techniques and principles to create and alter welding projects based on provided sketches and blueprints. Full-time, seasonal employment without benefits.

Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.

Winter storm shift scheduled as needed.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITYQUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

Three years of experience in the operation and use of welding equipment, materials, and related shop equipment to repair, maintain, or fabricate parts, equipment, or structures; or

Completion of a three-year, high school Vo-Tech training program in welding and eighteen months of experience in the operation and use of welding equipment, materials, and related shop equipment to repair, maintain, or fabricate parts, equipment, or structures; or

Completion of an approved welder apprentice program; or

A welding certificate D1.1 from the American Welding Society; or

An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Additional Requirements:

You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Special Requirement:

This position requires possession of an active Pennsylvania Class C Driver's License.
