Job Description

Reporting to the Head of Listed Real Estate, Managing Director the analyst based in Hong Kong is accountable for assisting the Listed Real Estate team in the identification, evaluation and analysis of public real estate investment opportunities across APAC region.

Role Specific Accountabilities:

  • Examine and analyse potential listed real estate investments, using financial models and a variety of quantitative and qualitative analytical tools.
  • Assist in the underwriting process by creating financial models and undertaking detailed valuation analysis of listed real estate companies and REITs.
  • Remain current on market and industry developments to help frame investment strategies.
  • Compile data and financial information to assist in managing the listed real estate portfolio and assess potential investment opportunities.
  • Participate in the monitoring and management of the investment portfolio through formal semi-annual reviews and other informal meetings.
  • Assist in the preparation and presentation of Investment Committee papers
  • Benchmark investment performance and prepare reports for senior management and head office as required.
  • Work well with teams across real estate, equities and other business areas.
  • Willingness and interest in working across multiple real estate sectors and geographies.
  • Other relevant duties and projects as assigned.

Qualifications

  • University degree or equivalent – in Real Estate, Finance, or a related discipline
  • CPA or CFA Candidate would be an advantage
  • 1 to 3 years work experience. Prior listed real estate work experience is preferred
  • Relevant experience may include valuation, asset management, fund analyst, investment banking, equities research or similar. Good accounting knowledge is preferable.
  • Strong quantitative, financial and analytical skills (DCF and financial modelling).
  • Fluent in English; both written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Chinese language skills are a positive, but not a requirement
  • Solid understanding of MS Office, Excel, Power Point, Bloomberg and other financial data portals
  • Flexibility, adaptability and initiative, willingness to travel
  • Team player who enjoys a high performing culture
