Job Description

The Analyst/Associate reports to the GLT-Managing Director, Head of APAC Operations to assist in operational matters across CPP Investments in Asia Pacific, implement growth strategy and business plan in the region.

Role Specific Accountabilities

  • Supporting the International Asia team with operational project implementation, various internal and external presentations and internal briefing memos, financial analysis of the portfolio and reporting of investment activities
  • participating and contributing to special projects (strategic and operational)
  • establishing and maintaining data sets for effective reporting and monitoring against targets
  • assisting in analysis, preparation, and monitoring of annual business plan and budget
  • supporting investment teams with ad hoc research, assisting with relationship management and business development activities
  • coordinating various corporate meetings, Regional Quarterly meetings and off-site staff events as required
  • Preparing reporting and meeting materials for CPPIB Executive and Board meeting as needed

Qualifications

Critical Experience:

  • 2 to 4 years of experience in a top tier accounting or management consulting firm, equity research, investment banking, private equity, or a combination of such at top-tier global firms
  • Experience in conducting research, data analysis and financial modeling
  • Ability to communicate structurally and effectively in a multi-cultural and multi-disciplinary environment
  • Proven experience in creating meeting presentation materials for senior management
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Calendar) and ability to learn new applications.
  • Fluent in written and oral English, with other Asian languages (e.g. mandarin) a plus
  • Familiarity with public equity, private equity, and real estate investments a plus
  • Undergraduate degree preferably in Finance, Economics, Business Administration or Accounting
