Position Information Position Title Assistant Analyst - Finance and Grants Overview Participate in the oversight of tracking of grant spending as well as training.Essential Duties:
Create a training course/module for Principal Investigators (Pis) and their coordinators. Maintain regular communication with the researchers and their teams. Participate in origination meetings at the time of award and coordinate regular meetings with each investigator to review expenditures for compliance with guidelines and budgets throughout the grant award period. (25%)
Ensure the appropriateness of college spending by reviewing and approving purchase requisitions for compliance with college policies and correct coding and ascertaining whether funds being requested are available. Reconcile grants receivable and payable accounts monthly. (25%)
Streamline the verification process to accommodate for growth in volume in grant awards by amount and different complexities. Become knowledgeable in various agency compliances. Approve all grant direct costs to ensure all costs are allowable, properly allocated, reasonable, and consistent based on the funding agreement. Review requisitions for grants, verify the accuracy, authorization, and appropriateness of the G/L accounts assigned. (20%)
Prepare grant monthly financial reports and be accountable for proper distribution of data to the Pl’s and fielding of questions as they arise. (l 0%)
Serve as the lead in digitizing the 700+ endowment funds’ agreements and correspondence which are currently housed only in paper form. Develop and maintain a tracking system for the college’s endowment funds. Responsible for the completeness of college records surrounding endowed investment spending and endowment reporting using Fundriver. (10%)
Work with the team on the continuation of Banner grant implementation and other adhoc projects as they arise. (10%)
Marginal Duties:
Education and Experience Required
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution required. One to three years’ experience in financial services or accounting or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Higher Education or grants experience strongly preferred. Basic proficiency with Banner preferred.
