Role: Dashboard Developer Remote Duration: One Year Functions/Duties

  • Coordinate with internal and external partners, including IT and Informatics, and facilitation of agency-wide workgroups including large data set analysis and data cleaning, with a focus on addressing each program need
  • Experience working with data transformations and modeling
  • Work across functions and divisions to ensure accurate capture of all data, provide recommendations on other data sources to include, such as demographic analytics, other health care data, or other relevant sources.
  • Identify and implement infrastructure for agency-wide dashboard production.
  • Develop and share dashboard and visualization best practices, identify opportunities to improve the dashboards and data visualizations within the platform (leveraging PowerBI, Tableau or other technologies) to enhance the ability of our users to achieve their goals
  • Create new dashboards for areas of agency that are interested in visual routine reporting.
  • Responsible for all aspects of dashboard production, including data access and ETL processes.
  • Assist in identifying Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) as needed
  • Provide guidance on ideal display/drill down of available data
  • Troubleshoot technical issues that may arise with the survey platform, dashboards, or data
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Ability to integrate legacy data and analytics into the dashboard, manage the internal database for these dashboards, updating macros as needed, and running data updates
  • Knowledge of web analytics and dash boarding, data visualization best practices
  • Strong interpersonal and cultural competency as well as strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to independently structure and execute data analyses to meet ad hoc customer requests
  • Ability to manage multiple projects/deadlines, identifying the necessary steps and moving forward through completion
  • Detail-oriented and excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to write complex queries, and joins, to produce data from the warehouse(s), like AWS Redshift, and other data sources for reporting.
  • Prefer experience with cloud-based infrastructures and data warehouses, like Amazon (AWS) Redshift.
  • Perform activities across reporting and analytics infrastructure including security administration, release management, troubleshooting, & general systems maintenance
  • Perform development activities from gathering requirements and designing solutions, through developing code/reports, to testing and release/deployment
Education and Experience
  • Master's Degree in Public Health or Science, Epidemiology, Biostatistics, computer science or related
  • 3+ years' experience with dashboard creation in PowerBI
  • Experience identifying KPIs
