Operational Risk Summer Intern, Third Party Risk ManagementEast Providence, United States of AmericaThe Operational Risk Summer Internship, Third Party Risk Management (TPRM) role will provide the intern with an opportunity to gain a stronger understanding of the operational execution of the Third Party Risk Management within the Financial Services industry including program policies, standards, governance and communication requirements. The position will also include the coordination of the TPRM program to the key operational risk programs.This 2025 Summer Internship is for undergraduate students who have an anticipated graduation date between December 2025 and May 2026.This internship position is located in East Providence, RI. Assist with coordination of all TPRM Committee meetings, agendas, materials, and documentation of attendance and discussions/minutes
Assist with coordination of Local Supplier Working Groups (LSWG) meetings
Assist with Policy, Standard, and Procedure continual improvement
Manage the TPRM SharePoint Site
Attend various first line of defense meetings to represent second line of defense TPRM for trouble shooting, to provide policy/standard, procedure clarification and guidance
Prepare reporting decks for the various TPRM committees, audit, compliance, and working groups
Assist with third party risk assessments in alignment with the Banks policies and industry standards
Assist in development and execution of category/supplier strategies
Support Business Lines in the interpretation and execution of the Group and SHUSA Vendor policies.
Assist in the ongoing oversight of TPRM Framework in support of the first line of defense
Contributes to escalation, reporting, communication to Risk Governance Forums
Helps drive culture of risk awareness
Participates in the creation and delivery of Operational Risk business-tailored training

Requirements:
Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program at a University or College
Degree in Business, Finance or equivalent preferred
Expected graduation date between December 2025 – May 2026
Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00
Expertise in delivering high quality work products, reflecting attention to detail and analytical process
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to interact with senior leaders across departments
Ability to quickly grasp complex concepts, including global business and regulatory matters
Ability to adjust to new developments/changing circumstances
Self-directed, self-motivated and demonstrated experience providing ideas and solutions to further business understanding
Ability to work in an environment that supports employees from all backgrounds and fosters an environment of inclusion.
Working Conditions:
Extended working hours may be required as dictated by management and business needs
Travel to multiple facilities may be required
May be required to lift, push, or pull materials weighing up to twenty (20) pounds
May be required to sit and review information on a computer screen for long periods of time
May require repetitive motions of the hands and wrist related to writing and typing at an electronic keyboard
