Location: Providence, RI Salary: $100,000.00 USD Annually - $130,000.00 USD Annually Description:

Senior Estimator

The Senior Estimator utilizes appropriate resources to estimate the amount of money, time, materials, and labor required to complete a given construction project.

• Calculate job costs and produce cost estimates: Compute estimated labor, materials and time by studying blueprints, specs, etc. in accordance with workforce availability and typical costs. Monitor workload and engage senior leaders in progress.

• Oversee the subcontractor and vendor bid process: Share project documentation and specifications with subcontractors and vendors and obtain bids in order to price jobs. Create RFI log and review RFI responses. Evaluate and analyze subcontractor/vendor proposals to ensure accuracy in scope. (Quantities, schedule, inclusions, exclusions, etc.) Identify scope gaps and discrepancies between subcontractor bids using bid leveling sheets. Negotiate pricing with subcontractors and vendors and resolve questions regarding subcontractor work. Collaborate with proposed project team on

preliminary schedule.

• Develop and maintain relationships with subcontractors and vendors: Create relationships with subcontractors and vendors, aligned to the needs of the organization, to ensure sufficient workforce capacity to meet project needs.

• Support Business Development efforts: Collaborate with Business Development/Marketing to produce proposal submissions with accurate cost information. Present proposal to senior leaders and then to the client through the interview process.

• Build, coach and develop: Provide ongoing coaching and feedback to Estimating team members; complete performance reviews in a timely and thoughtful manner and in accordance with company guidance. Oversee and support training and development of the Estimating team.

MEASURES OF SUCCESS (GOALS)

• All cost estimates for the job are completed within the expected timeframe.

• Cost estimates for jobs are accurate and reflect true scope of work, to include materials.

• Retain viable subcontractor bids.

• Development, submission, and presentation of high-quality estimates and proposals.

QUALIFICATIONS

• 5+ years' experience with construction estimating, general contractor or related role

• Demonstrated experience in generating cost needs based on project plans and specifications

• Knowledge of construction industry costs and the ability to negotiate effectively

• Expert knowledge in reading plans and specifications

• Proficiency in data analysis

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Estimating software (BuildingConnected or similar)

• Familiarity with local subcontractor and supplier marketplace strongly preferred
