Find your future with us.Boeing Commercial Airplanes is seeking an Aircraft Machinist (Level B) to support the Fabrication Program in North Charleston, South Carolina on 3rd shift !Person selected for this position will be responsible for operating 3 & 5 axis CNC machines to fabricate various titanium, aluminum, and fiberglass parts. In addition, person will be responsible for operating manual and CNC lathes to fabricate bushings, washers, and plugs.Position Responsibilities:
Reads and interprets moderately complex blueprint drawings and specifications to set-up and machine items to fabricate out of sequence emergent production parts as required using manual and CNC machines.
Develops and revises Machine Control Data (MCD) and geometry.
Assists other machinists in completing job responsibilities.
Follows detailed verbal and/or written instructions.
Exhibits Boeing Behaviors.
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.This position must meet export control compliance requirements. To meet export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):
1+ years of experience reading and interpreting machine code data (MCD)
1+ years of experience of 787 Operations
Must be willing to work 3rd shift
Must maintain all necessary certifications to perform the job
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
1+ years of experience is Aerospace, Fabrication, or Manufacturing experience.
Experience in a team environment.
Team Leadership (Formal/Informal) experience.
Experience utilizing and following detailed work instructions, electrical schematics, and reading and interpreting blueprints or drawings
Experience using manual mill and lathe machines.
Experience setting up and fixtures, operating, and programming CNC machines, i.e. with 3 and 5 axis CNC machines.
Experience setting up NC/CNC machines, including probing and using dial indicators to establish set points.
Typical Education/ Experience:High school diploma or GED and typically 1 or more years' related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Relocation:Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position.
