Our client in Charleston, SC, is expanding their team and seeking an Associate Attorney for their Litigation practice. This firm is a national leader in litigation risk management and mass tort defense, with a presence in multiple states across the country. They represent high-profile clients in industries like energy, construction, and technology, and are known for their fearless, efficient litigation approach and dedication to diversity, equity, inclusion, and community service.In this role, you’ll join a relaxed and collaborative local office focused on general liability and toxic tort cases. If you’re seeking an opportunity to grow your career with a firm that prioritizes excellence and client service, this could be the perfect fit for you.Responsibilities: Take charge of cases proactively from inception to conclusion in both state and federal courts Craft pleadings, written discovery, and motions, conducting research as necessary Maintain regular communication with clients and provide reports as required Conduct in-depth legal analysis, evaluate cases, and recommend strategies Collaborate and coordinate with expert witnesses Attend depositions, court hearings, and mediations Prepare for and attend trials Foster a strong work ethic, self-manage and collaborate effectively in a team environment Demonstrate exceptional research, written and oral communication skills and problem-solving abilities Maintain a strong commitment to delivering exceptional client service and contribute to client development.Requirements Must hold a Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school Must be admitted to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction A minimum of 3 years of experience in litigation, preferably with a focus on Mass Tort Demonstrable skills in legal research, analysis, and drafting of complex legal documents Excellent oral and written communication skills Strong negotiation and advocacy skills Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines simultaneously Proficient in using legal research tools and software High ethical standards and professional integrity Ability to work effectively in a team as well as independently Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail Willingness to continue learning and improving litigation skills.
