Barn Hand

I am looking to hire a part time barn hand caring for outdoor horses 2-4 days a week. On the job training will be provided, with preference given to those with previous horse experience as this position requires being able to carry out duties alone, but I am willing to train extensively for the right person. Duties include dragging the arena (driving the tractor), making grain, feeding horses, cleaning and filling water troughs, and various horse care duties depending on the needs of that horse. This position does require a certain amount of physical fitness due to the nature of the job (being able to lift bags of grain, flip and empty water troughs to clean them, reaching through fences to tie horses up to eat, etc). The perfect fit would be someone who is passionate about horses and cares about their well-being. We are a family oriented lesson/boarding barn with a positive, friendly atmosphere.
