“Must have” requirements: Someone who has basic electrical focus in their studies or experience. Someone that is willing to learn new things and investigate new things. Our group works very independently, and this person would be on their own meeting the people and taking care of tasks therefore self-motivation is very important.

Failure analysis or quality management experience or high voltage battery experience or terminal connections would be a plus. Previous experience working in automotive manufacturing would be a plus.

Note:Internal team name: TX-56. The material and process analysis group (the lab). We have different sub-groups within our team. This position goes into battery and electrical component group – Hall 83 is where this position sits. Day to day responsibilities for this role: Someone contacts our team for analysis. We meet with that person for information gathering and then we see what is going on. We agree on some type of testing that needs to be performed and then release them until we do the analysis and write it up into a report and PowerPoint. We either present it back or we send it back to them via email. We have an internal system for fielding requests that this person would be looking at for anything coming in the plant. This person needs to stay organized and self-motivated and deal with many process partners. Need to be able to meet with process partners virtually or in person. This is an onsite position. Soft skills are important. Need to be able to pick up the phone and communicate well and in written communication. Some of the requests are simple and then the report writing. There are generally 2-5 requests a week. Sometimes something needs deeper analysis so those reports can take a week or two to close out. This is a case by case basis and driven by the quality of the parts and we see fluctuations. Reports consist of writing out problem descriptions, what testing was done what the result means and documenting any pictures.

WFH: Group typically comes in at 7am and works 8 hours. We do have flexible scheduling when late meetings need to be had. Our work from home is limited.
