Description We are in search of a Bookkeeper who will play a pivotal role in our team based in Camden, South Carolina. This role centers around maintaining financial records, including purchases, sales, receipts, and payments. The successful candidate will be responsible for working closely with our team to create and analyze financial reports and ensure legal requirements compliance, process accounts payable and receivable and manage invoices and tax payments. Responsibilities: Maintain and record financial transactions at the business unit level Ensure that all transactions are recorded in the correct daybook, suppliers ledger, customer ledger, and general ledger Bring the books to the trial balance stage Process accounts receivable/payable and handle payroll in a timely manner Develop monthly financial statements, including cash flow, profit and loss statements, and balance sheets Prepare and submit weekly/monthly reports Assist senior accountants in the preparation of monthly/yearly closings Review and implement financial policies. Requirements Applicant must possess solid bookkeeping skills and experience. Proficiency in using bookkeeping software, spreadsheets, and databases. Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles. Proficiency in data entry, along with a knack for numbers. Attention to detail and accuracy in work. Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information. Outstanding problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to meet deadlines and manage time effectively. High level of integrity and professionalism. Strong organizational and planning skills. Prior experience in a similar role would be an added advantage. Willingness to adapt to new changes and learn new processes. High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business or Accounting preferred. Familiarity with laws, regulations, and best practices applicable to dealing with financial and risk management matters.
