Position: Business Intelligence / Data Visualization Engineer (AWS, Tableau, QlikSense, PowerBI)

WFH: 20% onsite (1 day a week in office) – 80% work from home available.

Day to day: This team is the Data Analytics teamThis position is very similar to the last opening this team had for this JFDS a few months back. Tableau experience is required. This position is heavy in Tableau. This position is looking for candidates with BI tools (nice to have: Qlik Sense, PowerBI). AWS experience is required. AWS click site experience would be a plus. SQL required (being able to create views in a database) The team really needs a designer with a lot of creativity when thinking about dashboard creation. They need to do calculations, dimensions and measures but how to develop the dashboard would be very helpful. Thinking through the user experience and how to actually tell the story with the data. Data literacy is very important. They would be helping with the dealer projects. There is a sales bonus tracker project that goes with dealer performance they would be working on as well. There are multiple projects under the “Dealer Performance” umbrella and this person would be focused under this umbrella. Palantir experience would be a nice to have. This person will need to handle multiple projects at once. General business intelligence is needed.

Must have: Tableau experience is required. AWS experience is required. SQL experience is required (being able to create views in a database)

Nice to have: Qlik Sense, PowerBI, AWS Click Site and Palantir would all be nice to have.

Purpose: Accelerates and supports the ongoing activities in the field of Big Data and Smart Analytics at the innovation lab. Deals with large volumes of data, understands and explores data critical to BMW’s business. Responsible for driving data for future BMW processes and products. Works with different BMW business units to understand the business demands with respect to Big Data and Analytics. Conducts advanced analytical tasks, data mining, predictive modeling and clustering analytics to enable BMW to improve its products, services and processes.

Responsibilities:Analyzes business critical data and recommends improvements. Works with large data sets from both within and external to BMW (e.g. plant data, social media data, warranty data) and conducts advanced analytical tasks, such data conversions, ETL, filtering, fusion, aggregations and data mining.Manages medium to large-scale enterprise-wide projects in the area of smart analytics.Serves as a primary point of contact for other engineers and specialists in the team providing expert knowledge and troubleshooting skills.Serves as internal consultant to other developers and engineers as needed, providing assistance in all phases of product life-cycle development.Advises developers and engineers on latest data analytics technologies and assists the team in process matters as related to development/support and provides the necessary on the job training and development of associates/contractors within the team.Maintains accurate, meaningful and updated technical and non-technical documentation pertaining to all aspects of area(s) of responsibility.Performs other duties as assigned by BMW MC Operations Supervisor

Education: Bachelor degree in computer science, mathematics/statistics, engineering or related field required.Masters degree in computer science, mathematics/statistics, enginering or related field required.PhD in computer science, mathematics/statistics, engineering or related field preferred.

Experience:+5 years post-university experience in advanced analytics in the field of data science, applying scientific data analytics methods preferably to automotive industry datasets.+1 year proven experience completing projects in with a set of various data sources.
