Job Overview

Trimar is searching for a highly motivated, detailed oriented, experienced Controls Foreman. The ideal candidate must be a proven leader and problem solver with a strong technical HVAC and controls background. The Controls Foreman will play a crucial role in managing, deploying, and implementing building automation solutions to support our diversified client base. The position will require daily project activity oversight, resource scheduling, quality control, and team technical leadership. Must be customer service oriented, with a drive to ensure projects are completed right the first time.

Essential Job Functions

Leadership & Supervision – provide team leadership and cross functional collaboration throughout the construction and deployment process. Liaison lead engaging with technicians, project managers, and construction teams. Must be able to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.

Project Planning & Schedule – develop daily work execution plans, and weekly project schedules. Develop detailed pre-task plans, safety plans, and specific project access requirements.

Drawings & Specifications – proficient with electrical controls schematics, electrical power, mechanical layouts, and P&ID diagrams. Must ensure all project execution and delivery complies with the project specifications. Includes managing progressive document changes, redlines, and as-builts.

Technical Experience – strong proficiency in building automation controls, including relay logic, building controllers, instrumentation, and fire alarms systems.

Troubleshooting – experienced troubleshooting background including mechanical, electrical, and ancillary OEM systems.

Quality Control & Assurance – responsible for ensuring all work is completed and in compliance with the standards set forth by the project specifications, and those set forth by the company standard.

Installation and Deployment – lead project installation and deployment teams, including conduit, wire, panel, and instrumentation installation with minimal supervision from the Project Managers.

System Commissioning & Validation Support – support all field commissioning and client acceptance testing.

Job Requirements

(2) Years Technical or Vocational Degree preferred, but not required based upon experience.

(4) Plus, years of experience in building and/or industrial automation installation.

Knowledge of building automation control loops, instrumentation, field IO and P&ID’s.

Knowledge of Fire Alarm Systems preferred.

Proficient with Mechanical & Electrical Systems (MEP).

Proven project foreman and/or field management experience.

Self-starter with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Ability to function and execute independently and as well as part of a team.

Monday - Thursday work week (40 hours) with 80% daily intra-state travel (South Carolina or SE Region).

Overnight stays expected to be 40% or less.

Transportation provided to/from job sites.
