Duties and Responsibilities:

Diagnose and repair mechanical faults on concrete mixers.

Forecasts goals and objectives for the department and strives to meet them.

Trains, motivates, counsels, and monitors the performance of all service department staff.

Prepares and administers an operating budget for the service department.

Maintains reporting systems required by general management and the factory.

Monitors service board and production board/schedule to anticipate workload.

Monitors and controls the performance of the department using appropriate reports and tracking systems.

Get trucks into the shop if necessary and coordinate/assign mechanics to jobs.

Coordinates workloads based on technicians’ skill levels and availability. 

Strives for harmony and teamwork within the department and with all other departments.

Directs and schedules the activities of all department employees.

Informs repair technicians of time allowances on each repair order.

Quality Control

Other tasks as assigned.
